Dr Parkes and Dr Gordon analyse who gets inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and why? Dr Gordon talks about the role played by genetics and heritability, looking particularly at twin studies, as well as considering the impact of environment and diet.

Dr Parkes looks at the genetics involved in inflammatory bowel disease, breaking down the interface between genes, in particular microbiota and epigenetics, and the environment.

This lecture was part of the 'Medicine and me: living with crohn's and colitis' event at The Royal Society of Medicine in London.
