Professor David Haslam (Immediate Past President, Royal College of General Practitioners and National Clinical Adviser for Care Quality Commission) examines the notion of quality and the way it affects NHS targets.
This lecture was filmed at an event called: '36th Albert Wander lecture: Beyond quality. A lecture given by Prof David Haslam'.
RSM Event Description:
"Quality is often now described as the central organizing principle of the NHS. No-one would wish for anything else. Indeed, the statement appears totally self-evident. But the critical question is what we mean by "quality". The aims of the lecture are to stimulate thought and discussion on the possible meanings of "quality", and the unintended consequences that may result from getting the focus wrong."
Date of lecture: 14th April 2010
