Dr David Bogod presents the case that pain relief in labour can be good for the mother and baby. Dr Bogod looks at the effects of pain on the mother's and baby's health, both short term and long term. He also discusses the use of pain relief in labour, weighing the consequences against those of having none at all.
This lecture was filmed at the 'work of the devil or heaven sent - pain relief in labour' meeting at the Royal Society of Medicine in London.
Date of lecture: 2nd December 2016
